SAP to Acquire Reltio to Enhance Enterprise Data Capabilities

SAP has announced its agreement to acquire Reltio Inc., a master data management (MDM) software provider. The acquisition aims to enhance SAP’s ability to support customers in preparing both SAP and non‑SAP data for AI-driven use cases. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Once completed, the acquisition is expected to expand the capabilities of SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP BDC). According to SAP, integrating Reltio will support its AI-First and Suite-First strategy by advancing SAP BDC toward a more interoperable data platform designed for enterprise-wide agentic AI. The combined technologies are intended to help organisations unify, cleanse and harmonise data across multiple sources.

“Reltio is a natural fit with SAP,” said Muhammad Alam, member of the Executive Board of SAP SE, SAP Product & Engineering. “Acquiring them will further improve our position as a leading business AI provider, combining SAP and non-SAP data to deliver data context that business AI requires. AI cannot reach its full potential when data is fragmented across business units, platforms and domains without connection or context.”

SAP states that Reltio’s capabilities will support customers in making their enterprise data fully AI-ready, enabling higher-quality and consistent data to drive SAP’s Joule and Joule Agents. Reltio’s platform manages structured and unstructured data, using AI-driven entity resolution to merge records into a reliable “golden record.” Its cloud-native framework provides a unified view of key business entities across systems.

Reltio Founder and CEO Manish Sood said, “Joining forces with SAP presents a tremendous opportunity for us to accelerate our mission. Enterprise AI needs trusted context that is open and interoperable across the heterogeneous IT landscapes our customers run. This combination accelerates our ability to deliver Reltio as the system of context across SAP and non-SAP environments, while maintaining continuity for our customers and our partner ecosystem.”

Reltio also offers industry-specific “velocity packs,” low-latency data delivery and support for Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling real-time multiagent workflows. Integration with SAP Business Suite applications is expected to help streamline decision-making, reduce complexity, and provide more reliable data for analytics and AI use cases.

SAP expects Reltio to become a core component of SAP BDC, with the option for customers to purchase Reltio separately or alongside other SAP solutions. Reltio will remain available as a standalone offering in the near term. The transaction is anticipated to close in Q2 or Q3 of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
