Survey Snapshot 2 – SAP Customer adoption in the USA of S/4HANA
In 2024 we are drowning in data, it’s everywhere. But in business today data is not enough. We need actionable insights to inform business strategy and decision-making. The purpose of this series of short articles: entitled Survey Snapshots, is to highlight just one useful survey containing invaluable insights that address a highly topical issue. This second one reviews the key issue of SAP S/4HANA adoption within SAP’s biggest market, the USA and asks what can we learn from it.
The 2024 survey by the American SAP User Group, ASUG, revealed earlier this year, that:
2024 represents a tipping pint in ASUG members implementation of S/4HANA, which was first released way back in 2015
47% of respondents are either already using S/4HANA, or implementing it now
As the 2027 deadline for end of mainstream maintenance sneaks up on us, 69% of respondents expect to be using S/4HANA within 2 years
52% of respondents reported making more investments in SAP in 2024 than before
This Snapshot Survey 2 data is very timely, as we wait with bated breath to see the results of our very own S/4HANA Research Survey – how will our region compare with the USA in terms of adoption? If you still haven’t taken part, then you do so through this link.
Fascinatingly, the same ASUG survey asked its members what problems they’d ideally like to solve with AI: 45% of respondents stated, “dashboards and analytics”, with another 22% selecting “customer experience”.
This is even more interesting when you compare these aspirations of SAP customer practitioners for AI, with those of global CEOs. Practitioners want to solve traditional SAP challenges, whereas CEOs see a much broader business payoff. This is highlighted in our first survey snapshot article – “Global CEO Thoughts on AI”, released exclusively to ANZSAP Magazine subscribers.
